Spiritual Warfare Prayers – Daily Protection & Scripture

Spiritual Warfare Prayers

Scripture, classic prayers, and a simple daily plan

Spiritual warfare is real—but Christ has already won the victory. These prayers help you lean into that victory daily. Use them with faith, Confession, and the Holy Eucharist. Note: formal rites of exorcism are reserved to authorized priests.

How to Use This Page

  1. Begin with the Sign of the Cross and a moment of silence before God.
  2. Pray one or more Core Prayers below (St. Michael, Our Father, etc.).
  3. Add brief Prayers for the Laity (personal renunciation, protection) as needed.
  4. Proclaim Scripture for Battle—God’s Word strengthens faith.
  5. Close with thanksgiving and a simple act of trust in Jesus.

Core Prayers

St. Michael the Archangel

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; may God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water from the side of Christ, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O good Jesus, hear me. Within Thy wounds hide me. Suffer me not to be separated from Thee. From the malignant enemy defend me. In the hour of my death call me and bid me come unto Thee, that with Thy saints I may praise Thee forever and ever. Amen.

Prayers for the Laity (Personal)

These are simple, personal prayers. For serious disturbances, speak with a priest.

Act of Renunciation & Trust (personal)

In the Name of Jesus, I renounce every spirit of fear, despair, and division; I claim the peace, hope, and unity of Christ. Lord Jesus, I place myself, my family, and my home under Your Lordship. Amen.

Prayer of Protection (home & family)

Lord Jesus, surround us with Your light. Send Saint Michael and the holy angels to guard our home. May the Precious Blood of Jesus be upon us and our belongings. In Your holy Name, drive far from us every influence of the evil one. Amen.

Prayer to the Precious Blood

By the Precious Blood of Jesus, deliver me, Lord, from every attack of the enemy; cleanse my heart, renew my mind, and set me firm in Your will. Amen.

Scripture for Battle (proclaim out loud)

  • Ephesians 6:10–18 — Put on the whole armor of God.
  • Psalm 91 — The Lord is my refuge and fortress.
  • Psalm 27:1 — “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?”
  • Luke 10:19 — Authority to tread on serpents… nothing shall hurt you.
  • 1 John 4:4 — “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
  • James 4:7 — “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

Daily Protection Plan

  • Morning offering + Sign of the Cross.
  • At least one decade of the Rosary (or full Rosary if possible).
  • St. Michael Prayer (morning & evening).
  • Brief Scripture proclamation (Ps 91 or Eph 6).
  • Night examen: repent, forgive, entrust to Jesus; sprinkle holy water if available.
  • Frequent Confession and Sunday Mass—your strongest weapons.

Common Questions (Quick FAQ)

Are lay people allowed to pray “deliverance” prayers?

Lay faithful can pray for themselves and their families using simple prayers of renunciation, protection, and trust. Formal exorcisms are reserved to authorized priests.

Do I need sacramentals?

They’re not magic, but they help dispose us to grace. The St. Benedict Medal, Miraculous Medal, and Pardon Crucifix are traditional aids when used with faith and the sacraments.

What if I feel unusually oppressed?

Seek Confession, ask a priest for counsel and a blessing, and continue daily prayer. Consider fasting (as appropriate) and Eucharistic Adoration.

Pastoral note: If you or a loved one is suffering extraordinary disturbances, contact your parish priest. Christ is Lord—stay close to the sacraments.
