On November 27, 1830, the Blessed Mother appeared to St. Catherine Labouré standing on a globe with light streaming from her hands and crushing a serpent under her feet. She instructed St. Catherine, “Have a medal made according to this model. All who wear it will receive great graces: they shall wear it around their neck. Great graces will abound for those who wear it with confidence.""
Devotion to the medal spread quickly and it became known as the “Miraculous Medal” as many experienced miracles and powerful graces just as Mary had promised.
St. Maximillian Kolbe had a strong devotion to the Miraculous Medal, calling it “our weapon with which to strike hearts” and “a bullet with which a faithful soldier hits the enemy, that is evil, and thus rescues souls.”
Follow in the footsteps of St. Catherine Labouré and St. Maximillian Kolbe and experience the power of this strong sacramental.
