Combat Rosaries for Heroes, January 12 Recipient

"My Son, My Hero, My Heart"

My son Chris Calandri graduated from the Army OSUT Training at Fort Benning in GA in 2011, following in the footsteps of his Grandfather (my father) Charles J. Carvalho who honorably served in the Army in WWII.

My father Charles was in the second wave to storm the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. My son Chris served a 9 month tour at war in Afghanistan in 2012. As a good luck charm he wore his Grandfather Charlie's WWII dog tags along with a blessed St. Michael medal and attached them to his own dog tag chain. Before he would head out on a mission he would give a "tap" to the medals. That "tap" was his silent prayer, and I believe is what brought him safely home to us.

My son will turn 30 years old on January 12, 2018. It would be a blessing and warm my heart for him to receive the combat rosary that is touched and blessed by the True Cross WWII era relic, and be recognized on his Birthday for his heroism and honorably serving our nation. Thank you and bless you Father Heilman for your constant guidance and this amazing blessing and support of our nations courageous heroes.

Sincerely,

MJ Army Mom and Daughter
